Silver Leaf

Leaf done in Silver Ink

This was done using a single leaf, a roller, and silver ink. I picked a nice large leaf, placed it on the roller, and rolled the roller through the ink. Then I rolled the ink onto a paper to get the leaf shown above.

Shady Pixels

Black to color to White

This was done using tempura paints and a lot of patience. I painted each individual square with paint that I hand mixed myself. The goal was to get each color to have even shades and tins from white to black with the color in it’s proper value scale location. A few of us bought used hair dryers and shrink wrap to protect our projects.

Shaded Colored Pixels

Color to color shades and tints

This was done with tempura paints and individual squares. The point was to mix each color to it’s opposite on the color wheel. The secondary colors were mixed by hand as were all of the in between values.

Pastel Leaves on the Wind

This was done using chalk pastels. The idea of the project was to become familiar with pastels and what they could do. We were also supposed to come up with a calendar image and saying.

Multi Leaf

Multiple Leaves done in print

This was done using a few leaves, ink, and rollers. First, we picked out what we wanted to “ink”, then we put the leaf onto the roller, which was then rolled through ink and applied to paper. After several rounds of this, the image to the left is what resulted.
