Silver Leaf

This was done using a single leaf, a roller, and silver ink. I picked a nice large leaf, placed it on the roller, and rolled the roller through the ink. Then I rolled the ink onto a paper to get the leaf shown above.

This was done using a few leaves, ink, and rollers. First, we picked out what we wanted to “ink”, then we put the leaf onto the roller, which was then rolled through ink and applied to paper. After several rounds of this, the image to the left is what resulted.

This was done using stock photography images, Photoshop, and In Design. The point was to take two unrelated objects and create a phrase using them. This is one of my best pieces with the use of contrast. I accomplished the contrasting text by using three layers. The bottom layer is black with a three point stroke around the letters. The middle layer is white with a two point stroke around the letters. The top layer is normal black with no stroke.

This was a group project using Quark Xpress, Illustrator, and Photoshop. My job in the group was to lay out the text on the second panel. I had to format the text around an anchor shaped die cut and position the images to fit as well. Our brochure also has a gate fold. A gate fold is where the two outer panels fold in towards the middle like a gate. After this project, the class jokingly called me the “Quark Dork.”

This project was done in Illustrator and Photoshop. The point of the project was to spell out the meaning of a word using images as the letters. I took mine one step further and turned it in to a bumper sticker. Please feel free to comment with constructive criticism only. Thank you.
